Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild

A Vibrant Center For The Arts And Crafts

Byrdcliffe embraces all disciplines of artistic endeavor in a collaborative spirit, and seeks creative partnership with other not for profit and educational entities in order to leverage its unique resources for the benefit of the cultural life of the Hudson Valley region.

Byrdcliffe’s Artists-in-Residence program is open to all artists working in all disciplines. Visual arts, photography, ceramics, film making, writing, composers, weaving, and multi-disciplinary. The primary criteria is a demonstrated commitment to the artist’s field of endeavor.

Exhibitions

The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild mounts exhibitions and organizes events that honor both the cultural legacy established by the Byrdcliffe Arts Colony in 1902 and contemporary artistic endeavors. The exhibition program features regional, national, and international artists; fine art and functional crafts; historical traditions and cutting-edge experimental projects.

Classes

The Arts and Crafts Movement and its idealistic philosophy, based on the synthesis of nature, love of craft, and simple living, was the genesis of the Byrdcliffe Colony and remains a living and growing component.
