Guided Tour of the Exhibition

Beginning at 2 pm with a guided tour of the exhibition by curator, Linda Weintraub and architectural coordinator, Alan Baer. Meet at the Byrdcliffe Theater, Upper Byrdcliffe Road.

Photo Shakespeare’s The Tempest at Center of Performing Arts at Rhinebeck

Following the tour, the public is invited to meet Shakespeare’s clowns from “The Tempest” as they romp and plot and Prospero yields his magic to the New World. Shakespeare wrote “The Tempest” in 1610, a few months after Hudson landed in Dartmouth, England on his return from his historic journey in 1609. It is the only play by William Shakespeare that takes place in the New World.

Shakespeare’s clowns from “The Tempest” are performed by Cate Olson and George Conrad. Caliban performed by Douglas Wooley. Directed by Lou Trapani, Center for Performing Arts in Rhinebeck. Prospero performed by Peter Goldfarb. Goldfarb, a Woodstock resident, is a producer, director, playwright, teacher, and actor in theatre, television and film. He created the acclaimed NBC Experiment in Television series and is VP of the UNESCO International Theatre Institute.

"Solar Punch"

Solar Punch a solar powered environmental activist, climate solutions band will highlight the solar innovation premiered in the installation entitled “LIT”. Solar Punch performs river–themed and inspirational music, from folk to rock. James Dean, guitar and vocal; Alan Bigelow, guitar and vocals; Andy Mattina, base; Frank Marino, drummer.

"Pitchfork Militia"

The “Apocabilly” band, Pitchfork Militia, will perform their own blend of rock, blues, country and rockabilly songs about old country life in the Hudson Valley. Delight in the rollicking sounds of Pitchfork Militia by Peter Head, song writer and singer, Karl, bass (with Lisa Krause and their children Ian and Finn), Joe Morgan on drums (with Laurel Morgan and their child Keirin).
