Byrdcliffe awards two visual arts fellowships:
Pollock–Krasner Fellowships: $1,100 award and pay no tuition. Photographers are not eligible for this fellowship. The Byrdcliffe Master for 2010 is Joan Snyder. Five Fellows will be selected and each Fellow will have access to Joan for critiques, career opportunity discussions and to share insight and guidance during their four–week residency.
This project is supported in part by a grant from the The Pollock–Krasner Foundation.
The Milton and Sally Avery Fellowship: $700 plus free tuition. This fellowship is specifically for painters. Artists cannot apply directly for The Milton and Sally Avery Fellowship; the jury panel selects one fellow after choosing the Pollock Krasner Fellows.
For info regarding outside grants for artists, please check out the New York Foundation for the Arts website.
Handel Fellowship: The Bernard and Shirley Handel Playwright Fellowship, established in 2007 provides a $500 stipend that includes tuition.
Writers under the age of 35, who need financial assistance, may apply for a $100 scholarship from The Patterson Fund. Please indicate if you are eligible on the application form.
