On Saturday, October 17, A Roaming Performance will explore the production of knowledge through non-digital poetic investigations. Katie Fowley and Katie Taylor will source a collective history of “mining” from interviews with friends and strangers. They will present their findings and hold a dialogue with the audience members in Woodstock. Suzanne Goldenberg will use found and scavenged text (language) to make stacked word sculptures. Participants will build, stack, and recite their poems. Emily Harris will explore body movement, distance, and the density of sensorial description through game-based exercises. Kate Parry will create drawings using light sensitive pigments and give these drawings to the participants of a walk to facilitate an interactive exploration of the quality of light in particular locations. The performance, on October 17, starts at 12:00 pm at the Kleinert/James Center for the Arts, 36 Tinker Street, Woodstock, NY. This performance is free and open to the public.
