VARENKA (couple’s option)
Visual artists and craftspeople in all media, writers, musicians, composers, architects, filmmakers, actors, and artists in other disciplines are invited to apply. Varenka is generally more suitable for individuals, however equally welcomes any couple who feels confident the space meets their needs. Please note that Byrdcliffe is regretfully unable to accommodate children at this time and that all fires, candles, incense, and other flames are prohibited.
Artists spend the session living independently and working in Varenka, a simple wood Arts & Crafts style building built in 1903. Varenka has an on-site studio space allowing artists to work in solitude, but is located in close proximity to other residency buildings. Varenka artists participate in all programming of the 4-week communal living residencies housed in the Villetta Inn and Eastover.
