SUMMARY:Handbuilding Planter Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Make an earthenware planter with extruded clay parts. \nThis is a four hour handbuilding workshop using extruded clay tube shapes to create a unique planter for your garden or home. \nThe workshop will start with a demonstration of laying out the planter design cutting\, joining extruded pieces to build the walls and forms. After the demonstration\, the remainder of the class will be assembling your own pieces with guidance. The finished planters will be around 8” x 12” x 6” to fit on a widows sill or shelf. \nClay and tools are provided. DESCRIPTION:The Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild is pleased to welcome back Woodstock’s own Sean Schulich who performed a dynamic show on Valentine’s Day at the Kleinert/James with his jazz trio. This time Sean is joined by his NYC-based band\, Silver Goat\, who will be performing their unique jamjazz. Their hypnotic and spellbinding sound will transform the audience to new dimensions. \nSean Schulich hails from Woodstock\, NY\, and after earning his Masters from Yale\, he won Artists International\, selling out his debut at Carnegie’s Weill Hall. Being a multi-genre musician\, he then went on to co-found the fusion group Alpha Mosaic\, winning a Sony Jazz Competition. Sean’s playing is described as “audacious” and “staggering” by jazzreview.com. \nSean Schulich has performed with the Funky Meters\, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band\, the New Orleans Suspects\, Bernie Worrell\, Charles Neville\, Meshell Ndegeocello\, Zigaboo Modeliste and recorded with Haitian House music-icon Jephte Guillaume.  His recent projects include Sunlight Origami (with Woodstock icon Vinnie Martucci) and Silver Goat\, a high-powered improv trio in NYC.  He’s played Jazz Fest in New Orleans\, The Mint in LA\, the Kennedy Center in DC and BB King’s\, BAM\, Brooklyn Bowl\, Bowery Ballroom and the Blue Note in NYC. \nPurchase tickets: https://bit.ly/3SyouBa \n$20 advance / $25 at door
