If It Bleeds It Leads

Set against the ultraviolent, unstable times of New York City in 1993 It If Bleeds It Leads is the true story of Sean Allison’s coming of age chasing murder, mayhem and love full speed behind the wheel of an auctioned off cop car on the streets of the biggest media market in the world.

Directed by accomplished actor and director Shae D’lyn (Boardwalk Empire Dharma & Greg) If It Bleeds it Leads is not a blood soaked exploitation of violence, as much as an examination on the societal consumption of violence through the lens of local television news.

Ride along, stand on the corners…come face to face with the cops, the firefighters, the perps, the victims and the denizens of the night that shaped Sean’s very personal journey into the American caste systems of money, race and privilege.

Sean Allison won the Best Storyteller Prize for If It Bleeds It Leads after its premiere at the United Solo Festival NYC Fall 2023.

Sean Allison is the founder of Small Potatoes Playhouse, a community theater company focusing on trauma based storytelling and live performances with programs including Back From the Front Stories of Service featuring members of the military.
