On December 16th at 8:00 PM, the Perry Beekman Trio will play a Holiday show at the historic Byrdcliffe Theater, featuring a joyful mélange of Holiday Favorites and Great American Songbook classics.
This will be the first Holiday show at the theater in many years, as it has only recently been renovated and winterized. The show is a Fundraiser to help complete the theater’s renovation with some acoustic treatments.
Perry is a rare commodity in the world of classic jazz. A gifted guitarist, vocalist and arranger, he brings a unique trio of musical talents to his passion for the Great American Songbook. When you add in his quick wit, smart sense of humor and impressive knowledge of the history of American popular song, you’ve got an uplifting and highly entertaining musical experience.
Joining Perry will be his longtime collaborator Lou Pappas on bass, and special guest, Scott Healy on piano. Scott recently moved back to the area after many years of living in Los Angeles, where he was the keyboard player for the Conan O’Brien house band for 26 years. Scott is also a Grammy nominated composer, and will be debuting his new composition, “The Byrdcliffe Boogie” at the show.
You can check out Perry’s CD’s, “So in Love,” “Bewitched,” and “’S Wonderful,” on Spotify. And while you’re there, don’t miss Scott’s wonderful CD’s, “Live at Kilbourn Hall,” and “Biscondini Organ Trio.”
But for big fun, get yourself some tickets to the show, and be prepared to spend some time tapping your feet and with a big smile on your face!
