Be the envy of your neighborhood and make an original mask this year for Halloween!
The face is the vessel we use for expression, and mask making is something all cultures share in one way or another. In this workshop, artist Leland Powley, will work with attendees in exploring the use of foam based clay in mask making. Foam based clay is non-toxic, offers a very expressive brightness, can be easily molded and is extremely user friendly. It’s light weight construction and detailed sculpting properties make foam clay the ideal material for mask making.
This workshop will offer an introduction to mask making and the materials used. Participants will create and decorate their own mask, with guidance and support from the instructor. Each participant will leave with a fully developed mask that they can proudly wear and display in their home.
